Gate to Success

Within only one year, at the site of the Technical University Munich (TU Munich) in Garching, the high-tech center gate came into existence. It was erected within the framework of the High-Tech-Offensive, which the Free State of Bavaria originated in 1999. With a technology and entrepreneur center such as gate, today the strengths of science and industry in Bavaria are expanded and oriented internationally. Regional technology expertise and infrastructure are fostered as well.

Opinion

"For us, gate should be a gate to the science in industry – at the Technical University, where science was always more than researching in an ivory tower."

(Professor Wolfgang A. Herrmann, President of the Technical University Munich, on 13 June 2002)
